Modeling and Control
of Noisy Quantum Hardware

Dates: 04-15 Jan 2027
Venue: Ashoka University

This international workshop is a joint collaboration of Ashoka University and International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, Bengaluru.

About the Workshop

Quantum information science and engineering have seen rapid progress worldwide, with strong efforts in research and development aimed at quantum computing, sensing, and networking. Much of this work depends on our ability to model and simulate the dynamics of open quantum systems with enough accuracy to guide design and control. Whether the platform is superconducting circuits, trapped ions, neutral atoms, or solid-state defects, reliable modeling tools are critical for building, operating, and improving quantum devices.

This two-week program will bring together an international group of theorists and experimentalists to focus on recent developments in modeling noisy quantum hardware, solving master equations and quantum trajectories, and translating theoretical results into experimental practice. The format combines lectures, tutorials, discussions, and poster sessions, with a strong emphasis on mentoring students and postdocs addressing the clear need for workforce development to support this growing field.
